世界影响力的盐矿景点

        维利奇卡盐矿（Kopalnia soli ?Wieliczka”），位于波兰克拉科夫附近，是一个从13世纪起就开采的盐矿，已基本停产。盐矿地下挖掘开发出了九层深度的古盐矿，最浅处在地下64米，最深处在地下327米，所有通道的总长合计为250公里。盐矿中有房间、礼拜堂、盐雕和地下湖泊等，宛如一座地下城市。1976年维利奇卡盐矿被列为波兰国家级古迹，1978年被联合国教科文组织列为世界文化遗产，1994年波兰总统颁布法令将其列为历史遗迹，2013年维利奇卡盐矿更名为“维利奇卡和博赫尼亚盐矿”，并将临近的博赫尼亚盐矿纳入其中。两者除展现地下矿址的景象之外，还兼具艺术、历史和宗教意义，具有十分突出的普遍价值。WRCA世界影响力评审委员会授予维利奇卡盐矿“世界影响力的盐矿景点”称号。

        The Wieliczka Salt Mine (Polish: Kopalnia soli Wieliczka), in the town of Wieliczka, southern Poland, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. From Neolithic times, sodium chloride (table salt) was produced there from the upwelling brine. The Wieliczka salt mine, excavated from the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest operating salt mines. The Wieliczka Salt Mine is now an official Polish Historic Monument (Pomnik Historii). Its attractions include the shafts and labyrinthine passageways, displays of historic salt-mining technology, an underground lake, four chapels and numerous statues carved by miners out of the rock salt, and more recent sculptures by contemporary artists.
