雪曼将军树是这个地球上最大的树，它位于美国加利福尼亚州的红杉国家公园内。大约2700年前，中国的春秋战国时期这棵树已经存在了。这棵雪曼将军树属于巨杉被称为世界爷，也被称为谢尔曼将军树或舍曼将军树。在1879年，博物学家杰姆·沃尔弗顿为了纪念南北战争时的将军威廉·特库姆塞·舍曼，从而命名了这棵树。这棵树底部直径11.1米，高度有83.5米相当于28层楼那么高，底部周长有31米需要20多个成年人手挽手才能抱住。如今，通过景区观光的方式，人们来到这里和古树近距离接触、拍照留念；去亲近自然感受自然的美妙。
